I first saw this mower advertised by a mail-order selling of "clean air" gardening tools that I'd purchased a by hand mower from, and so I assumed it was of reasonably quality. I still hesitated before buying it- how good could it be at the asking price?- but enough buyers seemed happy with theirs that I decided to risk it. At half the cost of the cheapest corded mower at the local bib box home store, it seemed as if it would be a good match for my small lawn. I've been using a hand mower for some years, but I find that if I let it go for over a week, it grows too far for the reel mower to cut it, and there are always areas that grow too long regardless.

It arrived on an unseasonably warm day, which gave me an chance to give it a quick shakedown. Assembly was fast, requiring only a screwdriver for two screws. The plastic case reminded me of the material used in some of the cheap import scooters you see advent out of China, and I calculate if whatever breaks it'll be the point where the deal with attaches to the case. Inserted a tubular steel deal with into a plastic socket and retaining it with a sheet metal screw doesn't seem like an ideal way to carry on the load that will be concentrated there.

Still, it started right up and have a good catalogue of itself when run over some long grass left over from last season. I'll update this describe after the mowing season begins in earnest.

Update: I've been using it for a month now, and it works just fine. It really goes accepted tall, damp, grass and weeds without slowing down, and although I'm still a petite involved about the build quality, nothing's failed yet. Still, if I was to do it over I think I'd buy something like the Black & Decker Mm875 Lawn Hog 19-Inch 12 amp galvanic Mulching Mower with Rear Bag which I see Amazon has for a bit over $200. That's twice what I paid for this mower, but I calculate the B&D will last twice as long. I'm still hoping, though, that by the time this petite mower dies the price of cordless mowers will have fallen a bit more.

Update Ii: After a full season's use, I have few complaints. Nothing broke, and it still starts up every time I pull on the power lever. I'd still spring for the B&D if I was to buy a new electric, but if high prices have been retention you from buying an galvanic mower, this is not a bad choice.

No point in the "catcher" : Greenworks 25072 20-Inch 5-Blade Push Reel Lawn Mower with Grass Catcher

The greenworks mower blades are super sharp, and cut fairly quietly. Assembly was easy and it feels solid when you push it. My only gripe with it is that it's kind of girly finding (as a woman, I feel I can say that). I want my tools to look like tools. My husband and I were joking that the box looks like it's for organic shampoo, not a lawn mower.

Sturdy push reel mower : Greenworks 25052 16-Inch 4-Blade Push Reel Lawn Mower With Grass Catcher

Many were skeptical when I purchased this item. They say, "If reel mowers were so great, why did they form gas/electric mowers to replace them? And why does everybody else on our block have an electric/gas mower?" I shrugged and said, "It's worth a shot and a puny extra elbow grease to go reel over dealing with the upkeep of a motorized device." So far, after one mow, my lawn is seeing nice and my critics remain skeptical but are a puny more convinced of the benefits of this green machine. I look send to spending some time this summer with this mower on my lawn without the smell of gasoline to ruin the fun.

Pros:
Product was packaged very nicely and arrived ahead of schedule
Assembly was easy (make sure you have a wrench handy because the nuts need to be snug)
Cuts evenly

Cons:
Grass catcher is a waste of time. Doesn't stay on. I say take it off and let the cut grass decompose into the ground instead of bagging it up in plastic and sending it to the dump.
Mower gets jammed on sticks, mulch pieces, etc. But it only takes a few seconds to clear it out and continue mowing
Not the best for going uphill but works ok on side hills and downhill

phenomenal Mower for Smaller Lawns : Sun Joe MJ420C Mow Joe 16-Inch 24 Volt Cordless Electric Reel Lawn Mower With Grass Catcher

My first order came damaged due to poor containers but I was very, very happy that the transfer was received in 2 days, Wow! So I raced home to put together since they were predicting rain and I needed to get my small lawn cut quickly. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. The only tools needed were a basic pair of plyers.

On the good side, the mower is very light (once you take off the battery) and easy to manuever. It also came fully expensed so I was able to mow immediately.

On the down side, the conjecture it is so light is it is 95% plastic. I have a sloped yard and found the bag totally impossible to use the way it sits so low to the ground. I tried cutting both over the slope and up and down the slope but it is undoubtedly designed to be used on flat even ground. Plus the build is kind of strange, it is like playing basketball, the top of the bag is open and the grass is supposed to land in the bag, I guess it would be a fun game for kids and a good way to get them to cut the grass. I would advise just wearing long pants and going without the bag. I commonly don't bag anyway but you have to go over any times to get the supervene of a mulching mower.

Also, and this is probably worse than the bag is that the cope is very flimsy, half way straight through mowing I noticed the whole mower was cock-eyed since I was cutting on the slope and putting more pressure on one side.

Overall, so far, I am happy with the puny green engine as I hate having to drag prolongation cords all over when using an galvanic mower and I am too environmentally known to use a gas mower. It is quiet and easy to use and I felt like I got a bit of a workout in the process, which is a good thing. I was thinking it would be a bit self-propelled but it is not at all, just the blades are motorized. Also it requires very puny storage space and the cope is undoubtedly removed so it can get in tight spaces. I think this was one of the lowest priced rechargable mowers so I was not expecting too much out of it, just so it gives me a few years of aid I will be happy.
